Not all vehicles are lucky enough to celebrate a quarter of a century in production. That distinction belongs to the 2016 Ford Explorer, which will be honoured with a new redesign for its devoted fans. The SUV was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show and promises new features that will impress, including a new engine.
The 2016 Ford Explorer will continue to offer the spaciousness that has won over buyers in the past with seating for seven. The redesign will create a more aerodynamic look that improves function and fuel economy without losing performance. Five trim levels will be available with the model: Explorer, XLT, Limited, Sport and Platinum.
Each trim level will have its own unique styling. You can expect great things from the top-of-the-line Platinum model. For instance, the Nirvana leather and wood and brushed aluminum accents offer a sophisticated look to this rugged SUV. It also features a powerful 3.5L engine that will be paired with the sic-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. The new engine for the 2016 Ford Explorer is the 2.3L EcoBoost® engine.
Expect to see the 2016 Ford Explorer in dealerships later in 2015 to celebrate the 25th anniversary. To learn more about the features of this SUV or to check out one of our other models, visit Watkin Motors Ford. We make it easy to find the vehicle that is right for you.
